DESIS ASCEND EDUCARE SCHOLARSHIP
I recently got selected for the Desis Ascend Educare Scholarship. So, I thought of sharing my experience, to help others achieve this too!
First of all, let me give you a brief about this program
So, It’s a 6-month long mentorship program provided by D.E. SHAW to enhance skills ranging from coding and software development to holistic professional development. Also through this program, we will have the opportunity to interact with experienced knowledgeable leaders with a diversity of backgrounds and perspectives. It gives an opportunity to understand various aspects of the work they do at DESIS and gain exposure to the corporate world more generally.
This program offers a stipend of ₹ 50,000 as well.
The program is open to women who are in their 2nd or 3rd year of a full-time, four-year engineering course in Computer Science or related branches (IT, software engineering, etc.).
Application process and my experience
So basically there were four rounds of selection (All rounds were eliminatory in nature)
- Essay submission and Resume selection — We were asked to submit an essay describing why we are a better fit for this program than other candidates. We were also asked to submit our resumes.
- Coding and aptitude online contest round— This round comprises 3 coding questions ranging from medium to hard level difficulty and aptitude MCQ questions as well.
- Personal interview round — This round was designed to evaluate you in areas such as problem-solving and critical thinking, collaboration and cooperation, adaptability, etc. It was similar to an HR round.
- Technical interview round — Finally, this was the last round. It was a code pairing round. It comprises questions related to DSA(medium to hard difficulty) and computer fundamentals.
Finally, after all these rounds, I made into this prestigious program
Excited to learn and I look forward to this journey ahead!
